How do you practice self-care?
We talk a lot about self-care these days—face masks, massages, girl trips—but for me, self-care is simpler than that. It’s not just a trend or a checklist. It’s a soft reset. A moment to get back to myself. Sometimes, it’s a long bath or a hot shower that seems to last forever. No interruptions. Just steam, silence, and my favorite body wash filling the air. That water doesn’t just cleanse my skin—it clears my spirit. It’s where I cry, pray, think, and sometimes just breathe. Other days, it’s bingeing a show that has nothing to do with business or planning or productivity. Something ridiculous. Something dramatic. Something that lets me check out of everyone else’s needs and focus on absolutely nothing. Those are the nights when time slows down, and I remember that rest is productive too. And let me tell you… there is nothing like blasting 90s R&B in the background —those are my jams. Their voices feel like home, like summer, like soft bedroom lights and candles. I turn the volume up and the world down. Then, there’s the sacred act of getting my nails done. Sitting in that chair, hands soaking, phone on silent..enjoying time with my baby girl. It’s one of the few spaces where I don’t have to be in charge. I can just be. No decisions, no to-do lists. Just pretty nails and peace of mind. Self-care for me isn’t about escaping life. It’s about slowing down just long enough to feel it. To find joy in the small things. To make sure I’m not so busy creating beauty for everyone else that I forget to care for the woman behind it all. So here’s your gentle reminder: whatever fills your cup—do more of it. Even if it’s just a shower, a song, or a fresh coat of polish. Because you deserve soft too.
