If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

As an event stylist and décor provider at Events by MDM Associates, navigating the intricacies of event planning in the DMV area offers both immense satisfaction and unique challenges. One aspect that often presents a hurdle, reflecting both our commitment to excellence and the constraints we work under, is the complex landscape of liquor laws in Maryland.

Today, I want to share a little wish I have. If I could wave a magic wand and change one rule in Maryland, it would be the rules about serving drinks at parties and events.

You see, in Maryland, every place has different rules about how we can serve yummy juices and fancy drinks when we throw a big party. Imagine trying to play a board game where every square has a different rule – it gets confusing! This means sometimes we have to jump through hoops just to make sure everyone can enjoy a classy glass of bubbly or a cool, refreshing drink the way they should at a fancy event.

Why would I change this rule? Well, because making sure everyone has a great time at a party should be fun and easy, not tricky. By having the same simple rules everywhere, we could focus on creating the most magical and memorable events for our guests, filled with sparkle, laughter, and maybe a little purple glitter. And guess what? Making things easier for us event planners also helps all the wonderful people we work with, like caterers and venues, to make sure every part of your event is as perfect as a fairytale.
